⋆ What We Do ⋆

Post 762 is a charitable organization that assists veterans and their families and provides entertainment, care, and assistance to hospitalized veterans or members of the Armed Forces of the United States. Along the way we also work to perpetuate the memory of veterans including by providing social and recreational activities for members and comforting survivors.

In order to serve local veterans and their families by providing financial, educational, & housing assistance, we raise funds through our club, via the sale of poppies, and by holding various local events, such as the Derby For Vets. Additionally, we raise and donate funds to assist many local organizations in their work to assist veterans and their families. Among them:

⋆ In Addition To Fund Raising ⋆

Fargo’s VFW Post 762 does more than fundraising. We also focus on providing social and recreational activities for members and our community, sponsoring or participating in patriotic activities, and supporting the social welfare of our Fargo community. Here are just a few of our ongoing projects.

⋆ Post 762 is a major sponsor of the WDAY Honor Flight. And our Honor Guard performs Welcome Home Ceremonies for these Honor Flight heroes when they return from trips to their memorials.

⋆ Our Honor Guard conducts Military Funeral Honors throughout the year as well as marches in parades and presents colors at various events.

⋆ Our Post offers youth outreach programs such as the Scout of the Year and the Voice of Democracy.

⋆ Members make an annual visit to the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon to visit with vets who live there.

⋆ We place flags on all veterans’ graves prior to Memorial Day, working with Scouting groups whenever possible, and conduct Memorial Day Services at area cemeteries and other locations to honor our departed comrades.

⋆ Post 762 participates in food drives via Great Plains Food Bank, feeding people in need in our community.
